Good Sized Honey Crop for Johnston Honey in 2009

Johnston Honey bees out foraged their Minnesota siblings this year. While Minnesota beekeepers reported a 50-60% reduction in honey production, Johnston Honey had an very good crop of honey. A cool, wet spring and summer reduced flowering. The BeePro patties from Mann Lake Bee Supply were again used and seemed to make a difference. The 3 pound replacement packages of bees were very sucessful and better than the 2 pound packages. Organic honey continues to sell well.
